What is Probate Litigation?
The legal process for distributing a person’s property or assets after they die, either with or without a will. The process in which a will is validated by the court and estate assets are distributed to heirs and beneficiaries named in the will or entitled to a distribution according to state intestacy law.
The legal process by which a deceased person’s will is validated and their estate is administered. This process involves identifying and valuing the decedent’s assets, paying debts and taxes, and distributing the remaining assets to beneficiaries. Probate ensures that the decedent’s wishes are honored and that legal obligations are fulfilled. Understanding the probate process is essential for anyone involved in estate planning, administration, or disputes regarding inheritance.
