What is an Executor?
The person named in a will who is responsible for managing the estate and ensuring the will’s terms are carried out.
An individual or institution appointed in a will to administer the decedent’s estate, ensuring that assets are distributed according to the terms of the will and applicable laws. The executor has various responsibilities, including gathering assets, paying debts and taxes, filing necessary legal documents, and distributing the remaining assets to beneficiaries. Executors must act in the best interest of the estate and beneficiaries.
