What is a Death Deed?

A legal document that transfers real estate property upon death without probate, also known as a Transfer on Death Deed.

A legal instrument that transfers ownership of property upon the death of the property owner to a designated beneficiary. Also known as a transfer-on-death deed, it allows the property owner to retain control of the property during their lifetime while avoiding probate upon death, as the transfer occurs automatically.
