Pay scale: $75,000 to $120,000

POSITION SUMMARY: RMO LLP is seeking a skilled Litigation Paralegal to sit in our LA, OC, and SD office. The Litigation Paralegal at RMO will partner with the firm’s attorneys with preparing court filings, discovery, subpoenas, document productions, witnesses, and providing trial support. Candidates should be proficient in the substantive areas of probate and civil procedure applicable to the firm’s practice areas, possess exceptional organizational and technical skills, and maintain all requirements for being a billing member of the firm. Paralegals report directly to their Managing Attorney.

Specific duties in collaboration with the team’s attorneys include, but are not limited to:

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 2 years experience as a paralegal in probate, trust, estate, or civil litigation
  • Strong, team-oriented work habits and ethics
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making skills
  • Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and time effectively
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills; deadline and detail-oriented
  • Ability to analyze legal documents for accuracy and completeness; strong proofreader
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and other legal/office software such as Smokeball®, Adobe, etc.
  • Must meet paralegal qualifications under California Business and Professions Code §6450

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minium 2 years’ experience as a paralegal in probate, trust, estate, or civil litigation
  • Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved paralegal degree program
    Or Certified Paralegal or Certified Legal Assistant designation
    bachelor’s degree a plus
  • Must meet paralegal qualifications under California Business and Professions Code §6450

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF POSITION

  • Work is performed in a professional office environment and requires the following during the workday
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time (working at a
    computer)
  • Repetitive movement (i.e. heavy computer/keyboard use)
  • Individuals will interact regularly with others verbally, in-person, and via written
    communication
  • May require occasional light lifting (files, copy paper, etc.)

  • Individual in this position will provide additional assistance and support as directed by their supervisor.
  • Job may require occasional travel to the Firm’s other offices and for external events
