What is a Trustee?

A person appointed by a trust’s creator to coordinate the administration of the trust, manage the trust’s assets and distribute the assets to the trust’s beneficiaries.

An individual or entity appointed to manage a trust, responsible for administering the trust assets according to the terms outlined in the trust document and in the best interests of the beneficiaries. Trustees have a fiduciary duty to act with loyalty, prudence, and transparency, overseeing investments, distributing assets, and ensuring compliance with legal obligations. They must navigate complex legal and financial matters, making informed decisions to protect the trust’s integrity and the beneficiaries’ interests.
